I will be going to Tajikistan soon for the first time in April. I am so excited to learn so much more food to bring back and share with everyone. I will be there till August. So you will not hear from me for a long while but, I will be back bring lots on new things to blog about I am sure!!!
Here is a map and a little info on Tajikistan if you have never heard of it.
I will be staying in the capital city Dushanbe. I will be leaving my husband behind and meeting my mother in law for the very first time with my sister in law and our kids. Yay 2 toddlers on a plane for about 14 hours!!! Ahh if you are a mother you can understand what I am talking about. Tajikistan is surrounded by mountains. It looks beautiful.
This next pic is a sky view of Dushanbe.
Dushanbe is the capital of the central Asian republic of Tajikistan. The city is located on the lower slopes of the Hissar mountains above Kafirnigan Valley in western Tajikistan. Dushanbe is a clean, European-style city that has recovered from the damage caused by civil war in the 1990s into a booming capital and cultural center. Little known by tourism, Dushanbe has a good infrastructure, making it a good base for excursion into Tajikistan’s beautiful mountain areas. The city is inhabited mainly by Tajik people, but there are also many minority groups living in Dushanbe, including Uzbeks and Russians. Tajik is the official language, but Russian is spoken widely.
