Thick Crust Chicken Alfredo Pizza

Alfredo Pizza

Sponge
1 tsp yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup flour

Dough
2 tsp yeast
1 cup warm water
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil

Mix ingredients for the sponge in a large bowl. cover and let it rise for 1 hour. It may look strange when you first make it but after its risen it should look like a sponge with holes.
In a separate bowl mix dough ingredients until it's not sticky anymore. Just before kneading the dough add the sponge to the dough mix. After kneading the dough flatten it on a baking sheet. Press fingers in the dough to form small dents. Pour about 1 tsp of olive oil and spread on the dough. bake at 400 for about 15mins.

For the pizza topping I use the following ingredients
1/2 jar of your favorite alfredo sauce
2 boneless skinless chicken breast
parsley
onion
garlic
green pepper
mushroom
mozzarella cheese
parm
fresh basil

Top your pizza with the ingredients and bake at 375 for about 15-20 mins.

The dough recipe can also double as a focaccia bread.

  1. Looks so good. I make pizza but not my own crust. I'm too impatient. I'll be back to check out your recipes.
